Ginny Fox is a New York artist whose most recent abstract work explores color and texture within a minimal, meditative, and geometric format. She refers to these as box paintings, as they are painted on a rigid, dimensional surface. One series is on acrylic box forms, another on clayboard- clay coated wood panels. By richly layering acrylic paint Fox achieves an encaustic like surface that references other natural materials- earth, stone, wood, and metal- yet the end result is a unique amalgamation all its own. Within each series these paintings can be seen as individual entities, or combined in a variety of groupings - the bands of color become the connecting element between them.

Ginny Fox has had numerous solo shows at SOHO20 Chelsea Gallery in New York. Her work has been exhibited extensively in group shows throughout the United States.
